The role of Victorian Asian business community leaders in bridging business relations between Victoria and Asia has been vitally important in maintaining Victoria’s reputation as the engine room of the nation.

The Brumby Labor Government is a Platinum Level sponsor of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo which will promote Victoria’s capabilities and strength in industries as diverse as biotechnology, nanotechnology, automotive manufacturing, arts, research, sustainable design and renewable energy. This will be supplemented by approximately 17 business missions to China in seven key sectors as well as inbound trade delegations from China into Victoria. I am committed to ensuring that the Asian business community continues to have a vital role in this success.

As part of our comprehensive strategy to achieve our goals, I will host the Building Business Bridges to Asia Dinner 2010 with the Premier, the Honourable John Brumby and other Cabinet Ministers. The dinner has been set for the 10th of March and promises to be a fantastic evening with precious networking opportunities available.
