Victorian Labor will upgrade the Cheltenham Secondary College, Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Education, James Merlino, announced.   Mr Merlino joined Labor Member for Clayton, Hong Lim, Labor Candidate for Mordialloc, Tim Richardson and Labor Candidate for Bentleigh, Nick Staikos, to deliver the good news to parents and teachers.   Labor’s $7 million commitment will go towards new classrooms, a new library, senior student study centre and landscaping.   Quotes attributable to Mr Merlino:   “Only Labor will rebuild classrooms and facilities at Cheltenham Secondary College to give our kids the best start.”   “Labor has listened to parents and teachers at Cheltenham – we believe students deserve a world-class school.”   Quotes attributable to Hong Lim, Labor Member for Clayton:   “Schools are so important for the future of our kids.”   “This is a proud day for locals who have been working hard to upgrade this proud school.”   “Cheltenham Secondary College has been waiting for years for a decent upgrade, but the Liberals abandoned the community.”   Key Facts
