Member for Clayton Hong Lim has called on the community to nominate outstanding local women ahead of the 2012 Victorian Honour Roll of Women.

Mr Lim said the Honour Roll was a great way to mark the extraordinary achievements of local women.

“We all know inspirational women and by nominating them for the Victorian Honour Roll, their achievements in their chosen field will be recognised in State Parliament,” Mr Lim said.

“In 2012, the Roll will focus on women in rural communities and women in culturally-diverse communities, and the unique contribution they have made.”

Mr Lim said the Honour Roll has celebrated thousands of leading women from across the state since its inception in 2001.

“Since Labor started the concept in 2001, 478 women have been inducted on the Honour Roll for Women,” he said.

“Twenty new inductees will be announced during the International Women’s Day celebrations in March 2012.”

Nominations for Roll close on 21 December this year. Twenty women will be added to the Honour Roll in March 2012.

Application forms and further information can be found at or by contacting Mr Lim’s electorate office on 9543 6081.
