Clayton electorate update – Copy of letter forwarded to residents surrounding Springvale West Primary School

I am writing to let you know of exciting news for our local primary school at Springvale West. Congratulations to the Principal and the School Council Committee members for their dedication to improve our educational facilities.

As you may be aware, Springvale West Primary School were successful in obtaining $2 million from the Federal Government under the Building the Education Revolution fund (BER).

I have now received information from the Victorian Education Department that our local school will be receiving an additional $1.125 million to construct a new Library and new Learning Neighbourhood building.

Making Victoria the best place to live, work and raise a family continues to be a key priority for the Brumby Labor Government.

Transport

  • $153 million has been invested into the rebuilding of Westall Station. and associated works to improve this rail link. In the State Budget it was announced that this station would be upgraded to premium status, and will be manned from first to last train. Also, the new SmartBus route 902 along Springvale Road has delivered more frequent services.

Police

  • The biggest frontline police boost in Victoria’s history, including investment for 1,966 additional police. This boost will offer more resources for our police station in Springvale.

Health

  • A record $4 billion health budget in partnership with the Commonwealth to build new hospitals and boost capacity of our local hospitals at Monash and Dandenong to meet growing demand.
