Springvale Road SmartBus

Posted on 12. Apr, 2010 in Clayton Update

The popular 888/889 bus route on Springvale Road will be replaced with the new 902 route, featuring reliable, frequent services for local commuters.

The 902 SmartBus provides service to Chelsea, Springvale Central, The Glen, and Doncaster shopping centres; as well as services to Springvale, Glen Waverley, and Nunawading train stations.

All SmartBuses are low floor, meaning they can meet with the kerb at SmartBus stops, making travel easier for people with trams and trolleys, and people with a disability.

On weekdays, the service operates on average:

  • Every 15 minutes between 6.30am and 9.00pm, and
  • Every 30 minutes at other times between 5.00am and midnight.

On weekends, the service operates on average:

  • Every 30 minutes between 6.00am and midnight on Saturdays, and
  • Every 30 minutes between 7.00am and 9pm on Sundays.

For public holidays, the service operates on average:

  • Every 30 minutes between 7.00am and 9pm on Good Friday and Christmas Day, and
  • Every 30 minutes between 6.00am and midnight on other public holidays.

The Brumby Government has committed to spent $1.2 billion improving our bus services as part of The Transport Plan – providing local commuters better service and reliability, and better access to train and tram services.

The Brumby Government has already improved over 160 local bus services in the last three years. The improved service commenced April 5th.
