Harmony Day at Westall Secondary College

Harmony Day at Westall Secondary College

Posted on 29. Mar, 2010 in Clayton Update

On 15 March I attended the Harmony Tree Plantation Ceremony at the College, followed by speeches and performances in front of the whole school assembly which is made up by students from different ethnic backgrounds.

The theme was recognition of cultural diversity and celebration of all races and cultures in this country. The students gave their own impressions of Harmony Day, with creative self-made videos, speeches in their own mother tongues and singing and dancing in ethnic costumes. Their sports hall was filled with laughter and applause and good spirit.

The school principal, Mr David Tyson and fellow teachers ought to be commended for their selfless devotion in making this day such a joyful and positive event.
